The religious hub of Dubai is the Grand Mosque, located in central Bur Dubai. With the capacity for 1200 worshippers, this elaborate mosque is one of the largest in the UAE and, at 70 metres, it boasts the tallest minaret in Dubai. While non-Muslim visitors aren’t permitted inside, the mosque’s traditional Islamic architecture – featuring an ornate domed roof, stained glass and wooden shutters – makes the exterior an impressive sight, particularly at night when the mosque is spectacularly lit.
