The Royal Opera House Muscat (ROHM) is the classical music and arts hub of Oman. It was built on the royal orders of the ruler of Oman, Sultan Qaboos bin Said Al Said. Creatively combining Islamic and Italian architecture, the building is a world-class modern art space that can house over one thousand spectators. The entire complex consists of a concert theatre, auditorium, art centre, landscaped gardens, cultural market space and fine dining restaurants. Since its opening in 2011, the art centre has played host to many musical, theatrical and operatic productions. Among the world-renowned artists and groups that have performed at ROHM are: Placido Domingo, Andrea Bocelli, Renee Fleming, Yo Yo Ma, Um Kalthoum, Majida El Roumi, Bala Subramanyam, the Mariinsky Ballet, the London Philharmonic Orchestra, the American Ballet Theatre and more.
