Located in Doha, this iconic museum boasts a large collection of Islamic art. Since opening in 2008, MIA has become one of the foremost museums of Islamic art, as well a centre of education and learning in the field of the arts of the Islamic world. Designed by Pritzker Prize-winning architect I.M. Pei, the architecture of MIA is simply stunning. Drawing on traditional ancient Arabic architecture, the museum is surrounded by water which reflects off the cream-coloured limestone to capture the changes in light and shade during the day. Take a stroll around the park which offers the best views of Doha overlooking the bay, or visit the park’s bazaar. Then grab a bite to eat at the MIA cafe, where you’ll find a collection of homemade French specialties and signature creations, with an Arabic twist.
