Roka is the Dubai iteration of Rainer Becker’s famed Japanese robatayaki restaurant, the first Middle East outlet to open since the flagship location was established in London in 2004.
Widening gastronomic horizons, the new dining destination holds the robata grill at the heart of its award-winning menu, a traditional Japanese cooking method inspired by fishermen cooking fish over charcoal on the boats of Northern coastal water off Japan.
Roka exudes personality and energy, with the flaming robata grill sizzling away in the open kitchen, serving dishes such as yakitori-negima yaki – robata grilled chicken skewers with spring onion and the Kankoku fu kohitsuji, flavoursome lamb cutlets with Korean spices and sesame cucumber.
Roka Dubai also serves key signature dishes such as Kampachi sashimi no salada, consisting of yellowtail sashimi, yuzu-truffle dressing and the sake no taru taru – salmon tartare with den miso and yuzu. Opening hours are Saturday to Wednesday 6.30pm to 12 midnight, Thursday and Friday 6.30pm to 12.30am.
